Marketing and Development Associate

The Catholic Community Foundation of South Carolina (CCFSC) is a non‑profit separate and distinct from the Diocese of Charleston with the purpose to provide long‑term financial support for the Catholic Church throughout South Carolina. The CCFSC offers an organized and thoughtful way for donors to support parishes, schools, and ministries while providing for the longevity of Catholic institutions and missions throughout the state. By creating an endowment or restricted fund with CCFSC, or donating to an already existing fund, donors provide a means for CCFSC to generate income to sustain and enhance the vitality of the Catholic church across the state.

Position Summary

The Marketing and Development Associate will have primary responsibility for marketing the Catholic Community Foundation of South Carolina for publicity and growth purposes, with specific responsibility to develop and maintain active social media presence, along with other marketing mediums from time to time, and maintain the website. The position also is responsible for organizational support to the Executive Director, to include Board of Directors’ meeting support, and record management. The position is full‑time, with potential for travel throughout South Carolina, especially for content creation. The successful candidate will be able to work both autonomously (after direction) and as a team player in a small staff while contributing to the growth of a rapidly growing foundation.

Essential Functions
Marketing Coordinator (60% of time)

Plan, develop, and execute regular marketing and branding activities for the benefit of the CCFSC.

  • Develop social media marketing plan; have primary responsibility for the design and content, posting to social media, and managing any applicable follow up to posts.
  1. Social Media marketing will include Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn
  2. Content creation will include idea development, interviews, videos, photos, and graphic design
  • Manage CCFSC website and keep content current, to include new fund donation pages and timely updates regarding grants and distributions
  • Potential to grow marketing plan to include communication with donors, publicizing grants and growth, and solicitation for donations
  • Goals and outcomes are reviewed frequently, at least quarterly, with the Executive Director, to correspond with the growth and direction of the CCFSC
Board of Director Support (10% of time)

provide organizational and secretarial support for quarterly Board meetings and monthly Executive Committee meetings, as well as other committee meetings on an as‑needed basis

  1. Schedule all Board and committee meetings via TEAMS and meeting room locations
  2. Organize and distribute materials for meetings
  3. Responsible for minutes at all meetings, to include recording, drafting, and distribution
Record Management (10% of time)

Responsible for organizing and maintaining physical and electronic records for the CCFSC (not responsible for original investment and financial records or for donation records in Raiser’s Edge database)

  1. Maintain properly updated and organized physical records for CCFSC and its funds
  2. Maintain properly updated and organized electronic records for CCFSC and its funds
Administrative/Coordinator Duties (20% of time)
  1. Process reimbursement requests for CCFSC
  2. Create and maintain files for new funds as established
  3. Create gift acknowledgements (letter or emails) and other letters as directed
  4. Coordinate with Chancery’s Office of Stewardship to ensure donations maintained in Stewardship database (Raiser’s Edge)
  5. Coordinate with Chancery’s Finance Department to ensure donations deposited to appropriate fund
  6. Process sponsorship paperwork and payment requests as directed by Executive Director
  7. Create Estate Planning and Seminar folders
  8. Track all known planned gifts (bequests) and donors, along with Heritage Society (Planned Giving acknowledgement group)
  9. Provide outreach on Heritage Society as directed
  10. Assist Executive Director in planning and execution of Heritage Society cultivation
  11. Assist Executive Director with other tasks as needed.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 1-3 years of related and relevant experience in marketing and communications
  • A successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with others but also able to work autonomously with minimal supervision after receiving direction
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Proficient in content creation software such as Adobe and Canva and in Microsoft Office Suite, as well as in website and social media content creation and management
  • Familiarity with digital analytics tools for websites, emails, and social media preferred
  • A practicing Catholic in good standing with an understanding of Church teaching, Church structure, and faith‑based stewardship
Working Conditions / Physical Requirements
  • Occasional evening or weekend work for events
  • Must be proficient in standard office technology and communication tools.
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license; willingness to travel occasionally in South Carolina.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, and use hands/feet for extended periods.
  • Ability to occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach overhead, and climb stairs while carrying supplies.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
