Walmart Market Strategy is seeking a Data Science Intern to analyze demographic, competitive, and geographic trends that inform real estate and market growth strategies. You will collaborate with cross-functional partners to evaluate site opportunities and generate predictive insights for store location planning.

Ideal candidates are pursuing an MBA or related graduate degree with skills in SQL, Power BI, ML, and geospatial analysis.

Qualifications

MBA or graduate degree in data science, analytics, business, economics, CS, engineering, or related field.
Ability to work with structured data and communicate findings to non-technical partners.
Strong analytical, problem-solving and presentation skills.
Able to work independently in a deadline-driven environment.
Experience with SQL, Power BI, ML, geospatial analysis or optimization.

Responsibilities

Analyze demographic, competitive and geographic data to support market prioritization.
Use SQL, machine learning and geospatial methods to identify patterns and insights.
Build a market prioritization model in Power BI.
Explore AI and optimization to improve market and site decisions.
Translate analytical results into recommendations for market strategy and real estate leaders.
Collaborate with data science, real estate, strategy and cross-functional teams.
Document assumptions, methods and findings and deliver a final presentation.
