Job summary

Tenaska Marketing Ventures (TMV) is seeking a highly motivated Market Insights Intern to support the Communications & Customer Engagement team. This internship is an excellent opportunity for an undergraduate student interested in gaining hands‑on experience in market research, customer engagement, business analytics, marketing, presentation development and proposal support.

Qualifications

• Actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, data analytics, information systems, finance, economics or a related field.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong attention to detail and ability to organize assignments and information effectively.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and ask questions when additional direction is needed.
• Willingness to learn new tools, processes and business concepts.
• Interest in customer engagement, communications, marketing research or analytics as well as in learning about the natural gas and energy industry.
• Collaborative, dependable and comfortable working with team members across different business functions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct market research on natural gas industry trends, customer segments and market developments.
• Assist with gathering and organizing competitive intelligence and market data.
• Support customer satisfaction and feedback analysis efforts, including work related to the Mastio customer survey.
• Create reports, charts, dashboards and visualizations that support business decision‑making.
• Assist with collecting, organizing and validating data from multiple sources.
• Support analysis of customer engagement metrics and marketing performance.
• Collaborate with TMV teams to support development of an analytics framework for TMV customer engagement activities.
• Develop event reporting processes by identifying CRM data and creating dashboards to track results.

Tenaska Marketing Ventures (TMV) is seeking a highly motivated and analytical Market Insights Intern to support the Communications & Customer Engagement team. This internship is an excellent opportunity for an undergraduate student interested in gaining hands‑on experience in market research, customer engagement, business analytics, marketing, presentation development and proposal support.

The intern will collaborate with experienced professionals and contribute to meaningful projects supporting TMV’s commercial team, customer events, and strategic marketing initiatives. Projects may include supporting team reporting, evaluating customer engagement data, and helping enhance event tracking and reporting within the CRM platform. This opportunity is well suited for a student interested in marketing, communications, business analytics, market research, customer engagement, or the energy industry.

This position is on‑site in Omaha, NE.

May 17th, 2027 – August 6th, 2027 (12 weeks)

Essential Job Functions

• Market Research and Business Intelligence:
  • Conduct research on natural gas industry trends, customer segments and market developments.
  • Assist with gathering and organizing competitive intelligence and market data.
  • Support customer satisfaction and feedback analysis efforts, including work related to the Mastio customer survey.
  • Help compile insights from industry publications, surveys and internal resources.
• Data Analysis and Reporting:
  • Assist with collecting, organizing and validating data from multiple sources.
  • Create reports, charts, dashboards and visualizations that support business decision‑making.
  • Help maintain and enhance recurring team reporting and identify opportunities to improve reporting processes and data quality.
  • Support analysis of customer engagement metrics and marketing performance.
• Customer Analytics and CRM Support:
  • Collaborate with TMV teams to support development of an analytics framework for TMV customer engagement activities.
  • Support the development of event reporting processes by identifying required CRM data, creating dashboards to track event results and customer engagement, and documenting procedures and recommendations for ongoing improvement.
• Communications and Marketing Support:
  • Assist with development of customer‑facing and internal communications materials.
  • Support newsletter creation, presentation development and marketing collateral updates.
  • Help maintain content libraries and marketing resources used by TMV commercial teams.
  • Assist with proposal and RFP support as needed.
  • Evaluate customer engagement data to support communications, marketing, and event‑related initiatives.
  • Assist with ongoing event tracking and reporting within the CRM platform.

Basic Requirements

• Actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, data analytics, information systems, finance, economics or a related field.

Preferred Requirements

• Junior‑level academic standing or equivalent progress toward completion of an undergraduate degree
• Prior internship or other professional work experience in a business setting
• One year of customer service skills preferred
• Coursework or project experience involving data analysis, reporting, marketing, communications, supply chain, or a related area
• Exposure to data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau or a similar platform.
• Exposure to CRM systems such as Microsoft Dynamics, Salesforce, HubSpot or a similar platform.
• Previous coursework, internship, project, or student organization experience involving reports, dashboards, presentations, or data visualizations is a plus, but not required
