Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain forward-looking regional supply and demand fundamentals, including production trends, infrastructure constraints, and pricing dynamics.
  • Translate complex market data into clear, actionable insights that inform trading decisions, storage strategy, and commercial planning.
  • Partner with Trading, Origination, and Scheduling teams to deliver timely, decision-ready insights.
  • Support trading activities through portfolio analytics, regional storage economics, market-level hedge context, and scenario-based optimization.
  • Provide market context and opportunity screening to prioritize commercial opportunities.
  • Build and refine market and demand models (e.g., data center load growth), leveraging internal tools and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Monitor pipeline activity, infrastructure developments, and broader market dynamics for risks/opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain standardized reports, dashboards, and market summaries to improve cross-functional visibility.
  • Build customer-level performance scorecards to analyze utilization behavior, demand trends, and commercial activity.
  • Identify data gaps and drive data quality improvements while promoting shared tools/methodologies.

Tenaska Marketing Ventures (TMV) is seeking a highly analytical and commercially driven Market Fundamentals Analyst to serve as a central link between market fundamentals, trading strategy, and commercial execution across regional markets. This role operates at the intersection of data, market intelligence, and decision-making, translating complex regional dynamics into clear, actionable insights that directly influence trading decisions, storage strategy, and broader commercial outcomes. As a highly cross-functional partner to Trading, Commercial, and operations teams, this individual will act as a force multiplier for traders and originators by enhancing the quality, speed, and confidence of market decisions.

In this execution-oriented and market focused role, the Analyst will develop and maintain regional market intelligence across supply, demand, infrastructure, pricing dynamics, and customer behavior. This includes building structured analytical frameworks such as customer performance scorecards and converting market and customer intelligence into decision-ready insights that enhance pricing, positioning, and asset optimization. The role plays a critical part in shaping how TMV understands market behavior and ensuring that this understanding is operationalized in real time to improve commercial and trading outcomes.

This position is designed for someone who thrives in fast-paced, high-impact environments and is motivated by direct influence on commercial outcomes. It plays a key role in scaling analytical leverage across regional markets and strengthening how TMV anticipates, interprets, and responds to evolving market conditions. Essential Job Functions
  • Develop and maintain forward-looking regional supply and demand fundamentals, including production trends, infrastructure constraints, and pricing dynamics
  • Translate complex market data into clear, actionable insights that directly inform trading decisions, storage strategy, and commercial planning
  • Partner closely with Trading, Origination, and Scheduling teams to deliver timely, decision-ready insights aligned to evolving business needs
  • Support trading activities through portfolio analytics, regional storage economics, market-level hedge context, and scenario-based optimization
  • Provide market context and opportunity screening to help prioritize which commercial opportunities to pursue
  • Build and refine market and demand models (including emerging drivers such as data center load growth), leveraging existing tools and collaborating with internal teams as needed
  • Monitor pipeline activity, infrastructure developments, and broader market dynamics to identify risks, opportunities, and impacts to regional balances and basis
  • Develop and maintain standardized reports, dashboards, and market summaries to communicate forward-looking insights and improve cross-functional visibility
  • Build customer-level performance scorecards to analyze utilization behavior, demand trends, and commercial activity, translating insights into improved forecasting, targeting, and strategic account decisions
  • Identify data gaps, inefficiencies, and process improvement opportunities; partner cross-functionally to enhance data quality, automation, and analytical capabilities while promoting alignment and consistent use of shared tools and methodologies
Basic Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Data Analytics or a related quantitative field
  • 3-5 years of experience in analytical, trading support, commercial analytics, or other quantitatively focused roles (or equivalent experience in adjacent industries)
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience working with large, complex, or imperfect data sets
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets and translate them into actionable insights
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly present insights to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in highly collaborative, cross-functional environments, partnering closely with internal stakeholders
  • Strong work ethic with high personal performance standards, with a track record of delivering high-quality work in fast-paced, time-sensitive environments
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and execute with a high degree of accountability under tight timelines
  • Ability and willingness to quickly develop a strong understanding of energy market fundamentals in a complex, evolving environment
  • Travel: 0 – 10%
Preferred Requirements
  • Experience in natural gas, energy, commodities, or other market-based trading environments
  • Exposure to supply, demand, pricing, storage, transportation, or optimization dynamics in energy or related markets
  • Experience supporting trading, commercial, or decision-support functions in a data-driven environment
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and/or market data platforms (e.g., Bloomberg or similar)
  • Familiarity with translating analytical outputs into decision-ready insights for commercial or trading stakeholders
