Job summary

Hy-Vee Market Grille is looking for a friendly Clerk to greet customers, take orders, and help deliver made-to-order meals in a fast-paced store kitchen.

You will work as part of a team to ensure accuracy and timely service, while maintaining food safety and cleanliness throughout your shift. Training is provided; no advanced education is required. This role features hourly pay and opportunities to grow within Hy-Vee.

Qualifications

• No education beyond training is required; Hy-Vee provides the training.
• Six months or less of similar or related work experience is acceptable; food service experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service, greeting customers with a smile, learning their names, and going the extra mile to make every visit a positive one.
• Take customer orders at the Market Grille counter and answer the telephone promptly, providing helpful service including taking product orders.
• Review daily orders, anticipate product needs, and prepare and replenish product as necessary.
• Pull product from the cooler or freezer to prepare for cooking and ensure an adequate food supply is ready and on hand.
• Handle food safely and review the status and appearance of food for freshness at all times.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary work area throughout your shift.
