Hy-Vee is seeking a Market Grille Clerk to serve fresh, made‑to‑order foods and provide a warm, welcoming experience at the Market Grille counter. You will handle orders, ensure food safety, and work as part of a team dedicated to quality and service.

No formal education is required; we provide all training. The role is fast-paced and involves standing, basic math, and strong customer interactions with a friendly smile and reliable shift attendance.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow detailed written or verbal instructions.
• Ability to perform simple addition and subtraction and record figures accurately.
• Understand and follow verbal or demonstrated directions and communicate supply needs orally or in writing.
• Work effectively as part of a team to deliver a great customer experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service with a smile and greet customers by name.
• Take customer orders at the Market Grille counter and answer the telephone promptly.
• Review daily orders, anticipate product needs, and replenish product as necessary.
• Pull product from the cooler or freezer to prepare for cooking and ensure adequate stock.
• Handle food safely and maintain a clean, sanitary work area throughout your shift.
• Check in product, review invoices, and assist with price updates as needed.
• Run the department register, receive payments, and make change where applicable.
• Maintain high standards of personal hygiene and adherence to Hy-Vee policies.
