Job summary

Hy-Vee is seeking a Market Grille Clerk to deliver friendly, fast service in a busy store environment. You will take orders, help prepare made-to-order items, and ensure quality while maintaining a clean workspace.

Training is provided, with growth opportunities as you learn Hy-Vee standards. Responsibilities include greeting customers by name, handling payments at the register, and collaborating with teammates to keep service running smoothly during peak times.

Qualifications

• No education requirement; Hy-Vee provides training.
• Six months or less of similar or related work experience; prior food service experience is a plus.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods in a busy kitchen environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service and greet customers with a smile.
• Take customer orders at the Market Grille counter and answer the telephone, providing helpful service.
• Review daily orders, anticipate product needs, and prepare and replenish product as necessary.
• Pull product from cooler/freezer to prepare for cooking and ensure adequate supply.
• Handle food safely and maintain freshness and quality at all times.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary work area throughout the shift.
• Operate the department register, receive payment, and make change as applicable.
• Remove trash, wash dishes, and keep work area organized.
• Price and order product, and deliver orders as needed.
• Work as part of a team to ensure customer satisfaction.
