Job summary

Hy-Vee is seeking a Market Grille Cook in Kearney, NE for part-time shifts. You will prepare hot and cold menu items, stock cases, and ensure quality, fresh offerings for customers. The role emphasizes teamwork, attention to sanitation, and friendly service in a fast-paced kitchen.

You will handle multiple duties from prep to plate, assist with upcoming shifts, and maintain standards in hygiene and store policies. Training is provided, and the position reports to Market Grille leadership.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Six months or less of similar or related work experience; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service, greeting customers with a smile.
• Prepare cooking surfaces and all menu items including vegetables, sides, meats, breakfast foods, and heat-and-eat varieties.
• Place food in hot cases, monitor amounts, and refill as necessary throughout your shift.
• Stay knowledgeable of all menu items and take guest orders as needed.
• Prepare items for upcoming shifts to keep the department running smoothly.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of all aspects of the Market Grille operation.
• Practice proper sanitation procedures and keep your work area clean and organized at all times.
• Order product and supplies as needed or notify department managers of any needs.
• Work with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
• Assist in other areas of the store as needed and take on special projects as assigned.
• Maintain strict adherence to personal hygiene, dress standards, and all Hy-Vee policies and store guidelines.
• Report to work when scheduled and on time.
