Job summary

Hy-Vee in Iowa is seeking a Market Grille Clerk to join our fast-paced in-store team. You’ll be the friendly face at the counter, handling orders, answering phones, and ensuring food safety while delivering quality service.

No formal education is required; we provide training. Six months or less in food service is a plus. This hourly role includes night and weekend shifts, with a supportive team and opportunities to grow within the store.

Qualifications

• No education requirement; training provided.
• Six months or less of similar or related work experience; prior food service is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service and greet customers.
• Take orders at the Market Grille counter and answer the telephone promptly.
• Review daily orders and replenish product as needed.
• Pull product from the cooler or freezer to prepare for cooking and ensure adequate supply.
• Handle food safely and maintain a clean, sanitary work area.
• Run the department register, receive payments, and make change where applicable.
• Work with coworkers to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant environment.
