Job summary

Pacific Maritime Group is seeking an experienced welder/fitter for on-site work in Long Beach, CA. The role involves reading blueprints, cutting and shaping metal, and performing tack welding to assemble vessel components.

You will operate tools and equipment including torches, grinders, measuring devices, and plate rolls. Strong safety awareness and the ability to pass respirator tests are required.

Qualifications

• 4+ years' experience as a welder/fitter.
• Ability to weld SMAW, GMAW, FCAW.
• Ability to pass ABS Welding Test 1-3G, 4G.
• Strong spatial skills and blueprint-reading ability.

Responsibilities

• Fitting and alignment of parts before joining.
• Fabrication and assembly of metal components for vessels.
• Welding to prepare components for final welding by others.
• Maintain stock levels of materials and supplies.
• Operate tools and equipment safely.
• Identify safety risks and comply with procedures.
