Job summary

SpaceX is seeking an Ark Vessel Assistant Engineer to lead safe operation at sea and maintain vessel mechanical systems. The role requires MMC/Assistant Engineer Unlimited and offshore experience, with duties spanning bunkering, engine room reports, and watches.

You will collaborate with the Master, ensure compliance with MARPOL and USCG/ABS standards, and support ongoing mission readiness across the SpaceX fleet.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency required.
• MMC/license: Assistant Engineer Unlimited (1st, 2nd, 3rd AE) required.
• 1+ years of offshore Chief/Assistant Engineer or QMED experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support safe operation at sea and maintenance of vessel systems.
• Coordinate bunkering and management of fluids, bilge and fuel resources.
• Complete Engine Room reports, logbooks and data per regulations.
• Stand engine room watches as OICEW.
• Ensure cleanliness and upkeep of the vessel onboard.
• Assist planning and maintenance for ongoing operations.
• Support Marine Operations to maintain readiness and repairs.
