Job summary

Labor & Workforce Development, through AVTEC in Seward, seeks an AVTEC Instructor and Department Head to lead the Alaska Maritime Training Center. You will guide program planning, development, and delivery, and optimize training tech like the fire trainer and full mission bridge simulator.

You will supervise six full-time instructors, adjuncts, and a maritime advisory board, while engaging in grants and special projects as part of AVTEC leadership.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of teaching, training, research, making presentations, lecturing, testing, and other instructional methods.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, development, and delivery of AVTEC training programs.
• Oversee assessment and training technologies such as the fire trainer and full mission bridge simulator.
• Provide direct supervision of six full-time instructors, adjunct instructors, and a maritime advisory board; manage grants and special projects.
