Nichols Bros. Boat Builders on Whidbey Island is seeking Apprentice and Electrician In-Training candidates across Marine Pipefitters, Painters, Machinery Assemblers, Production Welders, Ship Fitter/Fabricators and Electricians.

The Apprenticeship program combines on-the-job training with state-certified classroom instruction, emphasizes safety, teamwork and practical skills, and leads toward journeyperson status through supported hands-on experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be 18+ and eligible to work in the United States.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work at heights up to 60 ft.
• Ability to perform basic mathematics.
• Experience with hand and power tools.
• Willingness to learn and attend training.
• US Person status proof required; pass drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

• Learn to build vessel structures, piping systems, and machinery installations.
• Fabricate hull components and install equipment foundations and miscellaneous structural pieces.
• Maintain safe work practices and housekeeping; work as part of a team.
• Demonstrate competence through practical exams and classroom learning.
