Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Structural Engineering, Materials Science, or related technical discipline.
  • 4+ years (Mid) or 7+ years (Senior) of demonstrated experience in structural stress analysis on high-consequence hardware.
  • Proficiency in classical hand calculations and commercial FEA tools (Abaqus, ANSYS, Nastran/Patran, HyperMesh).
  • Experience developing design allowables using statistical methods (MMPDS).

Responsibilities

  • Perform classical hand calculations and advanced FEA on maritime pressure boundaries and structural assemblies.
  • Define and maintain design allowables across materials; characterize tensile strength, fatigue, and fracture toughness.
  • Own the allowables database and translate material specs into finite element models and margin calculations.
  • Drive test programs from coupon-level to full-scale qualification in collaboration with test teams.
