Job summary

Graham Technologies seeks an experienced Marine Operations (MO) Software Development Lead to provide technical leadership for software development and IT support activities supporting NOAA marine operations.

The Lead will oversee application design, development, integration, testing, deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting for ocean-going vessels, marine mission systems, unmanned systems, and shore-based support environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead software development activities supporting NOAA Marine Operations mission requirements
• Provide technical direction and mentorship to software-development personnel
• Lead requirements analysis, architecture, application design, development, testing, integration, deployment, and maintenance
• Translate shipboard and marine operational requirements into secure, resilient, and maintainable software solutions
• Support applications associated with ocean-going vessels, marine mission systems, scientific operations, and unmanned marine systems
• Design and maintain software capable of operating effectively in remote, intermittently connected, and bandwidth-constrained environments
• Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for complex software, integration, data, and performance issues
• Apply secure software-development and DevSecOps practices throughout the development lifecycle
• Establish standards for source control, code review, testing, release management, configuration management, and technical documentation
• Coordinate integration with shipboard and shore-based networks, servers, databases, identity systems, and cybersecurity services
• Evaluate legacy applications and recommend modernization, automation, integration, resilience, and maintainability improvements
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, design artifacts, operating procedures, and knowledge-transfer materials
• Mentor developers and perform technical and quality reviews
