Job summary

Spear AI seeks an experienced manufacturing, troubleshooting and repair technician to join a cross-functional team building, testing and deploying unmanned maritime sensor systems. You will work in the lab and on floating platforms, with frequent field operations and sea deployments.

Responsibilities include wiring harness assembly, electrical and mechanical fabrication, linux compute configuration, and extensive testing.

Qualifications

• Exemplary attention to detail and safety.
• Experience with mechanical fabrication techniques (additive manufacturing, basic machining, composites, welding).
• Experience with electrical fabrication (wiring harnesses, board population, battery packs).
• Experience with testing components and systems (on/off, pressure testing, cable verification).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for a high-performing team.
• Ability to deploy at sea and perform maintenance/recovery operations.
• Possibility of obtaining SECRET security clearance without cost to you.

Responsibilities

• Build, assemble, and test sensor systems with technicians and engineers.
• Fabricate wiring harnesses and electrical components; assemble battery packs.
• Fabricate and assemble mechanical components for sensor systems and buoys.
• Configure and test linux-based compute systems at basic level.
• Test components and systems in lab and field with limited procedures.
• Troubleshoot systems with engineers to improve documentation.
• Organize maritime test operations including deployment, maintenance, and recovery of instrumentation from small boats.
• Provide feedback to engineers on designs, durability, and maintainability; potentially lead feedback recruitment.
