Job summary

Qualifications

  • Must be a United States citizen of at least 18 years of age.
  • U.S. Passport with a minimum of seven months of expiration date.
  • TWIC and/or Department of Defense CAC with a minimum of ten months remaining of expiration.
  • United States Coast Guard Merchant Mariners Credential with a minimum of ten months remaining of expiration.
  • Second Assistant Engineer or higher on Steam, Motor, or Gas Turbine Vessels of Unlimited Horsepower.
  • STCW: III-1, III-4 and III-5.
  • Officer in Charge of Engineering Watch (OICEW).
  • Proficiency in Survival Craft & Rescue Boats Other than FRB (PSC).
  • Qualified Member of the Engine Department (QMED) Any Rating.
  • USCG Medical Certificate without limitations/restrictions.
  • Federal EPA Universal Refrigerant Handling Certificate/Card with document number.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain the fire room, boilers and auxiliary equipment and machinery, including UNREP cargo systems on steam vessels.
  • On Diesel or Gas Turbine vessels, maintain operation of engines and fuel oil system components and related machinery.
  • Ensure compliance with EEO laws and perform all other duties as assigned.
