Job summary

The Steamship Authority is actively seeking a Maritime Project Manager to lead planning, budgeting, and execution of complex port and terminal projects. This full-time, non-union role oversees contract development, procurement, and coordination with consultants and contractors to ensure timely delivery and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include developing bid documents, monitoring progress, inspecting facilities, and maintaining long-term project schedules.

Qualifications

  • BS in Marine, Civil, Mechanical or Structural Engineering with 5–10 years of experience.
  • Professional Engineering License and/or Project Management Certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop bid documents, negotiate, supervise, and schedule contractors.
  • Coordinate work between in-house resources and outside contractors.
  • Perform periodic inspections of terminals, buildings, docks and parking facilities.
  • Establish long-term planning schedules for terminal projects.
  • Interface with insurance underwriters on project reviews.
  • Support environmental regulatory compliance with Federal and MA rules.
  • Provide status updates to the Director of Engineering & Maintenance.
  • Attend weekly department meetings and respond to emergencies.
