Job summary

NSC Staffing is seeking a Pipefitters Journeyman for marine piping work in San Diego. You will layout, fabricate, install, test, and repair multiple systems including auxiliary saltwater, fire main, potable water, hydraulic, and engine exhaust, following NAVSEA, MSC, ABS, and other standards.

Ideal candidates have 6+ years maritime experience, read drawings, and work safely with PPE; you will lead helpers and work aboard ships and shipyards.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years in pipefitting with at least 6 years maritime experience.
• Strong knowledge of P-73 joint fit-up and Silver Brazing.
• Deep understanding of marine pipe fabrication and repair processes.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, Navy/MSC/ABS standards.
• Proficient in basic math and measurements (US/metric).
• Able to wear PPE per OSHA standards.
• Eligible to certify MT Braze (B-1) and MT Braze (B-2).

Responsibilities

• Remove, repair, fabricate, and install marine piping systems per standards.
• Operate table saws, pipe threading machines, bending machines, drill presses, brazing equipment.
• Perform blanking and pressure testing of tanks.
• Interpret drawings and work instructions.
• Provide direction to helpers and improvers as assigned.
