Responsibilities

• Perform core seamanship and deck duties: line handling, mooring, anchoring, rigging, fendering
• Operate and tend deck equipment such as winches, A-frames, and capstans
• Stand lookout and helm watches as assigned
• Assist in vessel maintenance and repair of deck gear
• Support over-the-side scientific operations, embarkation and safety drills, shipboard readiness
