Job summary

Fathom Robotics is seeking a Maritime Logistics & Deployment Manager to survey government test ranges and ports, then run the logistics to stage and operate uncrewed surface vessels at those sites. You will report to the USV Fleet Director.

Remote (U.S.), preferably near Ventura County, CA or Eglin AFB, FL, with travel up to ~25%. Active Secret clearance required; benefits include health coverage and 401(k). The role supports deployments across continental U.S. and remote locations.

Qualifications

• Seven or more years of maritime logistics, port operations, or expeditionary small boat support.
• Hands-on experience judging piers, ramps, and yards for vessel launch, recovery, berthing, and lift.
• Knowledge of crane load charts, rigging, forklift capacity, and heavy haul trailer operations.
• Experience with vessels up to 100 ft.
• Experience planning and executing movement of vessels and heavy equipment by sea, air, and road.
• Clear technical writing and ability to build a repeatable assessment standard.
• Able to travel approximately 25% to remote and overseas sites; work outdoors and on boats.
• U.S. citizen.

Responsibilities

• Develop and own the site assessment matrix used at every range and port.
• Survey piers, boat ramps, laydown yards, and staging areas for USVs and support vessels.
• Evaluate crane, forklift, and trailer capacity and access; record host vs contractor provisions.
• Review host agreements, range scheduling, and access with range staff and sponsor.
• Identify shortfalls, propose fixes, and write site reports and a consolidated final report.
• Produce deployment plans detailing vessels, equipment, costs, and timelines.
• Direct survey support staff and contractors during survey phases.
• Plan and manage deployments of USVs, crewed vessels, and payloads; lead on-site logistics.
• Arrange sea and air transport, port access, host support, and local equipment.
• Ensure shipments meet hazmat, ITAR, and exported-cargo requirements with security teams.
• Track vessels and equipment, including government-furnished and contractor property.
• Keep deployment learnings current and support proposals with logistics plans.
