Job summary

Cole, Scott & Kissane seeks an attorney with 3-5 years of maritime litigation experience in Florida to join its team in Miami or other Florida offices. Responsibilities include taking and defending depositions, drafting motions, and representing clients at hearings, mediations, and trials.

Qualified candidates must be licensed to practice in Florida, possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be able to work independently and with a team.

Qualifications

• Must be a licensed member of the Florida Bar
• 3–5 years of experience in maritime law
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Problem-solving skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Responsibilities

• Take and defend depositions
• Draft and argue dispositive motions
• Attend hearings, mediations, and trials
• Perform legal research and provide analysis of case law
• Prepare pleadings and correspondence
• Communicate with clients, expert witnesses, and opposing counsel
• Provide exemplary legal counsel to clients
