Job summary

BigLift Shipping B.V., part of the Spliethoff Group, is seeking a Legal Counsel to strengthen its global legal team. You will advise the commercial unit, draft and review contracts of carriage, and provide guidance on insurance and sanctions during ongoing projects.

The role requires a Master's in Law, maritime experience, fluency in English and Dutch, and a pragmatic hands-on approach. BigLift offers a solid pension, 29 leave days, training opportunities, informal atmosphere, fitness facilities

Qualifications

Master's degree in Law ( Maritime Law preferred ).
Experience in maritime industry and understanding of shipping contracts, BIMCO forms.
Ability to draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements.
Knowledge of maritime insurance (P&I and Hull & Machinery).
Proficiency in English contract law (Dutch optional).
Fluency in English and Dutch (oral and written).
Proactive, pragmatic, hands-on approach.
Strong communication, negotiation and listening skills.

Responsibilities

Draft, review and advise on contracts of carriage and offshore supply contracts.
Provide contractual, insurance and sanctions guidance during projects.
Negotiate with clients, suppliers, contractors and authorities.
Proactive claims handling related to fleet and office.
