Job summary

State of Washington's Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) seeks a journey-level Network and Telecommunications IT professional to support the Washington State Ferries maritime tech environment. You will design, deploy, administer, and maintain secure network and telecommunications infrastructure across vessels, terminals, and facilities.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge configuring, administering, and maintaining enterprise networks (TCP/IP, switching, routing, VLANs, firewalls, wireless, VPNs, WAN).
• Ability to apply network security principles and follow change management to maintain secure services.
• Analytical reasoning to diagnose issues, assess impacts, and develop practical cybersecurity solutions.
• Experience troubleshooting network and connectivity issues using structured methods and coordinating with vendors/resources.

Responsibilities

• Plan, configure, install, test, and commission network infrastructure across vessels and terminals.
• Improve connectivity with redundant links, failover, and performance evaluation.
• Configure OT network segmentation in line with cybersecurity initiatives and projects.
• Analyze issues, coordinate deployments, and document changes in production.
