Job summary

People Technology And Processes in Coronado, CA seeks an Engineer Instructor to teach small craft systems, including propulsion, fuel, electrical, and damage control, and to conduct hands-on instruction on MK VI engineering systems.

You will troubleshoot during training evolutions, ensure safety procedures, maintain materials, and contribute to curriculum development while applying naval tactics and engineering knowledge.

Qualifications

• Active state driver's license.
• Four (4) years of small boat/craft tactical experience in a maritime environment with proficiency in Maritime Navigation.
• Qualified Navy Second Class Swimmer or equivalent.
• Line Coach (LC)/Range Safety Officer (RSO) qualifications.
• Record of PQS qualifications in all CORIVFOR weapons and weapon systems.
• Must possess one of the following: NEC 9502/805A Instructor; NEC 9518/A12A Professional Development Instructor; Completed Journeyman Instructor Training (JIT).
• Experience with tactical planning and maritime operations.
• Familiarity with mechanical and electrical schematics.
• Physically fit to perform maritime instruction in austere environments.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and reading technical schematics.

Responsibilities

• Teach students in small craft systems including propulsion, fuel, electrical, and damage control
• Conduct hands-on instruction and classroom sessions focused on MK VI engineering systems
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues during training evolutions
• Ensure safety procedures and operational protocols are followed
• Maintain instructional materials and contribute to curriculum development
