Job summary
Pro Staff is seeking an experienced Electronic Technician (Marine Navigation Systems) in Williamsburg, VA to maintain and troubleshoot shipboard navigation and communications equipment. The role includes supporting IT networks, cybersecurity practices, and offshore deployments, with a 7:00 AM–3:00 PM schedule and a $70,000–$80,000 yearly pay rate.
The ideal candidate holds an Associate degree in Electronics Technology, 5+ years of relevant experience, and familiarity with marine navigation
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Electronics Technology or related field.
- 5+ years troubleshooting electronic equipment.
- Experience with computer networks.
- Ability to read electronic schematics.
- Security+ and GROL preferred (GROL after hire).
- U.S. DoD security clearance eligibility required.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and troubleshoot shipboard navigation, communication, CCTV, automation, and safety systems.
- Support and maintain computer networks and IT systems while following cybersecurity protocols.
- Assist with maintenance of radar, GPS, ECDIS, and dynamic positioning systems.
- Perform upgrades and repairs on electronic and computer-based equipment.
- Coordinate and oversee electronic system work during shipyard maintenance periods.
- Manage equipment inventories and documentation.
- Support offshore deployments and vessel operations as needed.
