Job summary

Living Classrooms Foundation seeks a Maritime Educational Coordinator to lead hands-on maritime education programs aboard our vessels, including day trips, overnight trips, and virtual formats. You will tailor programs to participant needs, manage groups of students, interns, and crew, and ensure safety and engaging learning experiences.

The role requires strong communication, planning, and leadership skills; prior experience with youth programs and shipboard operations is valued.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and public speaking skills.
• A passion for nature and working with children in an informal setting.
• Previous experience working with youth and implementing group management techniques.
• Must be willing to receive COVID-19 vaccination by date of hire and pass pre-employment checks.

Responsibilities

• Conduct and supervise safe and successful educational programs with onboard staff.
• Become familiar with safety and emergency protocols.
• Work with Maritime Education staff in a professional manner.
• Research and prepare curricula for all programs.
• Capture photos and manage media assets for seasonal programs.
• Oversee land-based portions and assist crew with ship operations.
