Job summary

Fincantieri Marine Group is hiring Carpenters for our Sturgeon Bay, WI facility on the 1st shift. The role involves reading blueprints, measuring and cutting materials, assembling components, and operating carpentry tools to support ship construction, repair, and dock operations.

Requirements include being 18+, a U.S. person, ability to work at heights and in confined spaces, and strong safety awareness. Prior shipyard experience is a plus, with 1+ year of related work preferred.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must be a U.S. Person.
  • Able to work at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Able to work in all weather conditions.
  • Knowledge of construction materials/methods and basic blueprintreading.
  • Self-starter capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Able to work in fast-paced environments and meet safety standards.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must adhere to ISO and OSHA policies and maintain safety awareness.

Responsibilities

  • Follow instructions under intermittent supervision and review blueprints/specifications to determine work requirements.
  • Measure, mark, cut, and install wood components for ship and building structures.
  • Operate carpentry tools/equipment and assist with docking and undocking vessels.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues and ensure proper storage and handling of tools.
  • Perform miscellaneous tasks while following safety, quality, and environmental policies.
