Job summary

Fincantieri Marine Group (FMG) in Wisconsin's Sturgeon Bay area is seeking a skilled carpenter to support ship construction and dock operations. You will read blueprints, measure and cut wood components, and install assemblies for interior and exterior ship sections and related structures. At least 1 year experience is required, 3+ years preferred.

Must be a U.S. person, able to work at heights and in confined spaces, and adaptable to all weather in a waterfront environment.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be a U.S. Person.
• Must be able to work at heights.
• Must be able to work in confined and enclosed spaces.
• Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
• Knowledge of construction materials/methods and basic blueprint reading.
• Self-starter capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work in fast-paced environments.
• Strong organizational and written/verbal communication skills.
• Must adhere to ISO and OSHA policies and safety expectations.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints/specifications to determine work requirements.
• Measure, mark, cut, and install wood components for ship and building structures.
• Operate carpentry tools/equipment and assist with docking/undocking vessels.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues and ensure proper storage and handling of all tools.
• Perform miscellaneous tasks while adhering to safety, quality, and environmental policies.
• Maintain reliable attendance and work energetically in a waterfront environment.
• Other duties and overtime as assigned.
