Job summary

Associated Terminals in Chalmette, LA, is seeking a Clerk to manage cargo moved on and off vessels, coordinating with the Clerk-In-Charge and organizing cargo in designated areas. The role requires documenting details with scanners, tally sheets, and production reports, while ensuring accurate counts and safe operations.

You will support loading/unloading across trucks, barges, and railcars, verify cargo measurements, and help maintain workflow efficiency.

Qualifications

• Experience in maritime, industrial, or warehousing environments is preferred.
• Proficiency in English and basic math is required.
• Ability to follow instructions and work well in a team.
• Willingness to work rotational shifts.
• Physical ability to perform all essential duties.
• TWIC Card is required.

Responsibilities

• Identify, stow, and sort cargo loaded or discharged from vessels into the terminal.
• Work with Clerk-In-Charge to categorize and organize cargoes in designated areas.
• Document cargo details, complete load lists, use scanners, and prepare tally sheets for reports.
• Monitor and oversee loading/unloading of trucks, barges, and railcars.
• Verify cargo counts, weights, measurements, marks, and dimensions.
• Ensure proper placement of cargo in staging areas for efficient workflow.
• Adhere to company safety initiatives, directives, and policies.
