Applied Intuition, Inc. is seeking a Maritime Test Engineer for Autonomous Systems to drive on‑water testing of autonomous surface vehicles.

You will work hands‑on aboard vessels, collecting data, executing test cards, and delivering actionable findings to bridge R&D and field deployment. You will partner with hardware and autonomy teams, perform pre‑checkouts, and produce after‑action reports while traveling up to 30% and potentially spending significant time offshore.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent hands‑on experience.
• 3+ years of experience in test, integration, or field operations of complex electro‑mechanical or software‑intensive systems.
• Hands‑on experience testing or operating autonomous or unmanned systems in a relevant domain.
• Comfort working on vessels offshore for extended periods, in potentially harsh conditions.
• Experience with agile program management tooling such as Atlassian Jira.
• Strong technical writing skills for clear test and after action reports.
• Willingness to travel up to 30% including offshore.
• U.S. Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Execute on-water test events for autonomous surface vehicles aboard test and chase vessels.
• Support pre‑underway system checkouts, launch/recovery operations, and pier-side prep.
• Operate and monitor autonomy systems during tests with safety on deck.
• Collect and first-pass analyze test data ensuring quality for each sortie.
• Identify and triage discrepancies using Jira with engineering teams.
• Contribute to test plans, procedures, and readiness reviews under direction.
• Author comprehensive after action reports and test reports.
