Job summary

CAC I Craft Automation and Control Engineer role seeks collaboration with mechanical, software, and systems teams to design and implement robust control architectures for marine platforms. Expect hands-on work with PLCs, CANBus, and power systems, plus GUI/HMI development and CAD-based schematics.

You will document software functions, manage version control, and size power distributions while interfacing with multi-disciplinary teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or related field.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical skills for debugging interfaces.
  • Experience in algorithm development and state-machine logic.
  • Experience interfacing PLCs with sensors and CANBus.
  • Experience designing GUIs/HMIs and documenting software.
  • Proficiency with CAD tools like AutoCAD or Solidworks Electrical.
  • Ability to evaluate hardware requirements and design power networks.

Responsibilities

  • Develop control system architectures and state-machine logic.
  • Interface PLCs with sensors, actuators, and CANBus networks.
  • Design GUIs/HMI for operator control and monitoring.
  • Document software functions and manage version control.
  • Use CAD tools to create electrical schematics and panel layouts.
  • Evaluate project requirements and select suitable hardware.
  • Size and integrate power distribution networks and actuation.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, software, and systems teams.
