Job summary

Ports America is seeking an Auto Body Painter/Preparer to join our maritime operations near Newark, NJ. You will inspect vehicles, prepare surfaces for painting, mix paints, and ensure color match while maintaining a spotless, safe work area in a high-noise painting booth.

The role requires 2+ years in auto body training, experience with both automatic and manual transmissions, and a valid US driver's license. Port Access Card eligibility is necessary for access to the port facilities.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of formal auto body training or certification.
• 2+ years experience operating automatic and straight (manual) shift vehicles.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid US Driver’s License.
• Ability to obtain a Port Access Card issued by the New Jersey State Police.

Responsibilities

• Inspect vehicles for body damage during final prep.
• Paint prep: tack off surfaces, mix paint and ensure color match.
• Maintain clean and safe workspace with proper PPE.
• Follow safety procedures and quality standards for paint applications.
