Job summary

Guest Services, Inc. is seeking a part-time Naturalist/First Mate for Weeki Wachee Springs in Spring Hill, FL.

You will educate guests on wildlife, monitor safety, and assist the Captain during 20-minute boat tours, with duties including pre- and post-trip cleaning and cash register tasks. The ideal candidate has strong customer service and public speaking skills, a background in natural sciences preferred, and a willingness to learn about marine mammals, birds, and local ecology.

Qualifications

• Partial High School education; High School Diploma/G.E.D. equivalent preferred.
• Strong customer service abilities; actively looks for ways to assist customers and coworkers.
• People oriented, strong communication/public speaking skills, education experience or background.
• Must enjoy educating diverse audience about wildlife and other subjects.
• Must adhere to company dress code.

Responsibilities

• Educate guests about wildlife during 20-minute boat tours.
• Monitor all passengers to ensure comfort and safety.
• Assist Captain as First Mate and handle safety talks prior to departure.
• Perform pre- and post-trip vessel cleaning and upkeep.
• Assist with cash register duties during shifts.
