Textron Systems is seeking a Welding Engineer intern in New Orleans, LA, to develop and manage welding programs and processes under experienced engineers. You will review procedures, qualify welds, and create WPS documents while interfacing with product design teams to ensure manufacturability.

The internship offers hands-on project work, mentorship, and exposure to state‑of‑the‑art welding technologies. Pursuing a BS in Mechanical, Welding, Manufacturing, Metallurgy, or Industrial Engineering

Qualifications

• Pursuing a BS in Mechanical, Welding, Manufacturing, Metallurgy, or Industrial Eng.
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams and independently.
• Familiarity with welding-related standards and software tools.

Responsibilities

• Establish and document welding processes per standards.
• Review welding procedures and documentation.
• Develop and execute weld qualification procedures.
• Create and manage WPS documents.
• Collaborate with design engineering on process/manufacturing needs.
• Support manufacturing and training regarding welds.
• Stay updated on welding technologies and safety procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
