Job summary

Allen Marine Inc. in Sitka, AK is seeking a Welder II to perform a wide range of welding and fabrication tasks, interpreting drawings and producing high-quality welds for vessel construction, repair and modification projects.

You'll mentor junior welders, adhere to safety protocols, and ensure accurate fit-up, alignment and inspection of welds across MIG, TIG and stick processes on aluminum and steel.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2–5 years welding and fabrication experience, preferably in marine/heavy industrial environments.
• Ability to read and interpret detailed blueprints and welding symbols.
• Must pass security background check and DOT drug test.

Responsibilities

• Perform intermediate to advanced welding using MIG, TIG and stick processes on aluminum and steel.
• Interpret blueprints, drawings and weld symbols to complete tasks accurately.
• Fit, align and assemble components with minimal supervision, ensuring tolerances and structural integrity.
• Inspect welds for quality and code compliance; troubleshoot fit-up and welding issues.
• Mentor and guide junior Welders while maintaining productivity and safety standards.
