Job summary

AMIkids Jacksonville is seeking a Career & Technical Instructor with Marine Service Technician experience to train and guide youth in a trade aligned with industry standards.

You will design hands-on lessons, assess student needs, advise on career options, document progress and certifications, and ensure safety and compliance in all activities. The role offers growth opportunities and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required; two years of relevant experience preferred.
• Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Ability to obtain and maintain industry credentials.

Responsibilities

• Instruct and oversee youth training in career and technical development.
• Assess and evaluate academic needs; provide instruction to a diverse population.
• Advise youth on career options and future coursework.
• Deliver instruction per lesson plans and IEPs; apply AMIkids blended learning model.
• Design hands-on lessons using tools, equipment, technology and industry techniques.
• Create and administer exams to evaluate youth progress.
• Ensure compliance with policies, procedures and regulations.
• Motivate youth toward goals; use behavior modification techniques.
• Maintain PPE, equipment, and safety; minimize risk to youth and gear.
• Maintain training materials, equipment, resources and inventory.
• Maintain youth records (lesson plans, grades, certifications).
• Document industry certifications into national registry.
• Serve as advisor and positive role model for youth.
• Attend crisis intervention, restraint training and CPR/First Aid certification.
• Keep classroom clean and maintain professional work habits.
• Supervise day trips and activities; coordinate logistics.
• Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.
