Jacintoport International LLC in Houston is seeking a Safety Specialist to develop, implement, and enforce safety and environmental policies in line with OSHA and DOT standards. You will analyze workplaces and design programs to prevent injury and disease while maintaining compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of safety experience at industrial sites (terminal-like).
• Bachelor’s degree in safety-related field acceptable in lieu of experience with OSHA/DOT knowledge.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• English communication skills (read, write, speak) at business level.
• Intermediate MS Word, Excel, and Outlook skills.
• Clean, valid driver’s license.
• Ability to analyze and solve problems, meet deadlines.
• Ability to work independently with strong initiative.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and enforce safety policies and procedures per state and federal regulations and company policy.
• Coordinate and conduct Safety Committee meetings.
• Ensure corrective actions are taken for deficiencies or hazards.
• Perform Safety Accident Investigations and ensure preventive actions are implemented.
• Coordinate communication of safety measures across departments.
• Conduct safety audits and inspections and recommend improvements.
• Maintain department logs and records to demonstrate compliance with laws and programs in Health, Safety, Environmental and Hazardous Materials.
