Qualifications

• Must hold Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education License at the 9-12 level.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and capability with technology.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.

Responsibilities

• Teaches Marine Technology to High School students.
• Introduces students to repairing and maintaining oceangoing pleasure craft.
• Hands-on training with diesel and gasoline engines and related components.
• Plans a program of study to meet students' needs, interests and abilities.
• Creates a conducive classroom environment and maintains student behavior.
• Assesses student progress and provides progress reports as required.
• Protects students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Maintains accurate records as required by law and policy.
• Assists administration with policies governing student life and classroom rules.
• Attends staff meetings and serves on committees.
• Develops lesson plans and provides individualized and small group instruction.
• Translates lesson plans into learning experiences to maximize instruction time.
• Evaluates students' academic and social growth and discusses progress with parents.
• Identifies pupil needs and collaborates with staff to support learning.
• Supervises pupils during out-of-classroom activities.
• All other duties as assigned.
