Job summary

TopSide Marinas is hiring experienced Marine Technicians in Waukegan, IL. The role focuses on maintenance and repair of marine engines, propulsion, electrical systems, and onboard equipment. Strong reading of wiring diagrams and OEM tool use are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required and OEM certifications preferred.
• 6+ years of mechanical repair and installation experience.
• Ability to read electrical wiring diagrams and use test instruments.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair marine gas and diesel engines from maintenance to overhaul.
• Repair/rebuild gearsets, transmissions and stern drives.
• Diagnose and repair carbureted and fuel-injected intake systems.
• Repair propulsion systems (transmissions, sail drives, stern drives).
• Diagnose and repair gensets and electrical systems.
• Perform winterization and spring commissioning of engines and ship systems.
• Install new engines, A/C systems, pumps, windlasses, and similar equipment.
• Perform mechanical repairs including water and waste systems and engine controls.
