Job description

Maersk Offshore Wind is hiring Offshore crew for our Wind Turbine Installation Vessel, currently under construction at Seatrium Shipyard in Singapore. The new build is expected to be delivered in Q4 2025.

In this phase, MOW is recruiting for various key positions to assist with new build operational familiarization and commissioning of equipment and vessel systems.

The crew team will also develop operational procedures, manuals, task plans, and risk assessments for the vessel’s operational processes.

Alongside tasks at the building yard, the crew will attend relevant courses related to the operation of the Wind Turbine Installation Vessel.

Further crew positions will be added in subsequent phases, with the full marine crew expected by 2025.

Candidates with experience in offshore wind turbine installation projects, construction vessels, commissioning, planned maintenance systems, spare parts, and procedures will be preferred.

Key Responsibilities

The Marine Technician is responsible for safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations, including maintenance, repair, and inspection duties on the vessel, particularly engine-related tasks, as directed by the Chief Engineer.

The main responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing maintenance of all mechanical systems to ensure high operational standards.
  • Providing technical support to mechanical systems to achieve vessel efficiency and meet client objectives.
  • Focusing on systems critical to maintenance operations to prevent downtime.
  • Implementing safety and environmental compliance requirements.
  • Assisting the Chief Engineer with maintenance procedures and ensuring effective use of the Maintenance System.
  • Maintaining deck cranes, jacking equipment, cargo elevators, hydraulic systems, etc., according to manufacturer instructions and experience.
  • Identifying issues with hydraulic/mechanical equipment.
  • Carrying out inspections in accordance with relevant standards.
  • Supporting crane supervisors, ETOs, and crane operators to ensure efficient operation of deck cranes and other equipment.
Operational Experience and Certification Requirements

Candidates should have experience as a Marine Technician with functions such as maintenance of cranes, jacking and hydraulic systems, troubleshooting skills, and a relevant technical background as a Maritime Service Engineer or equivalent.

  • Proficiency in Security Awareness (STCW A-VI/6-1)
  • Medical Certificate (STCW)
  • Yellow Fever Vaccination

  • Designated Security Duties (STCW A-VI/6-2)
  • Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats other than FRB
