Job summary

US Ocean is seeking a Technical Superintendent in Tampa, FL to lead shipyard repair oversight and ensure the technical integrity of our vessels. The role involves budget monitoring, invoice approvals, and coordination with Marine Superintendents and Operations teams.

The ideal candidate will have a marine engineering/naval architecture background, hands-on voyage or shoreside experience, and the ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in marine engineering and/or Naval Architecture or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid passport and TWIC.
  • Experience sailing on ocean-going vessels as a Licensed Engineering Officer or shoreside technical role.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee shipyard repairs, monitor budgets, and process related invoices.
  • Ensure technical integrity of assigned vessels and coordinate with operations teams.
  • Serve as primary technical coordinator for assigned vessels and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Support safe, efficient, and cost-effective vessel operations; monitor performance and action items.
  • Approve purchase requisitions, code invoices, and manage repair budgets and expenditures.
