Job summary

SAFE Boats International in Bremerton, WA is seeking a Marine Systems Installer for the Swing Shift to join our employee‑owned teams. Under supervision from our Master Craftspeople, you will install electrical, mechanical, and propulsion components on SAFE Boats products with a focus on quality and safety.

This role installs motors and drives, wiring harnesses, fuel systems, lights, GPS, radar, HVAC and related equipment; troubleshoots installations; documents work; and helps newer installers.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma (GED acceptable).
  • Three+ years in a related field or equivalent education.
  • Minimum one year experience on SAFE Boats for similar platform.

Responsibilities

  • Install electrical and mechanical components on SAFE Boats products.
  • Install outboard motors or inboard diesel engines, jet drives and wiring.
  • Install fuel systems and filters.
  • Fabricate and install main and auxiliary wiring harnesses.
  • Install and connect lights, radios, radar, sonar, HVAC, GPS, chart plotters, etc.
  • Troubleshoot and solve installation challenges.
  • Document information related to installations as needed.
  • Assist newer Marine Systems Installers as needed.

Salary Range: $26.00 To $35.00 Hourly

Department: Integration

Location: Bremerton

FSLA Status: Non-Exempt

Shift: Swing Shift- 3:30pm-2:00am Mon.-Thurs.

Compensation: $26.00 - $35.00 DOE

Why we need you and what you will be responsible for

With record backlog and high demand for our amazing boats, we need to add to our awesome Team of Employee Owners to help us keep up! Under supervision and leadership from our Master Craftspeople, this position will be responsible for the installation of electrical, mechanical, and propulsion components onSAFE Boats products.

What you will do/work performed

The installation of electrical and mechanical components onSAFE Boats products.

  • Installs outboard motors or inboard diesel engines andjet drives, along with associated cables and wiring.
  • Installsfuel systems and filters.
  • Fabricates and installs main and auxiliary wiring harnesses.
  • Installs, interfaces and connectsa variety of components such as lights,radios,radar, sonar, heating andair conditioning systems, auxiliary generators, GPS,chart plotters, etc.
  • Trouble shoots and problem solves challenging installations.
  • Documents or communicates information related to installations as needed.
  • Sets a positive example and may assist newer Marine Systems Installers with their work.
Core skills we are looking for:
  • Thoroughunderstandingof 12V dc electrical systems, including crimping, soldering and basictrouble shooting using multi meter.
  • Abilitytolayout, build and install subsystemsfrom schematics, including development of part list ordering parts, assembling components and testing.
  • Understanding of gasoline and/or diesel powerplants, including basic automotive mechanical skills
  • Familiar with general shopsafety procedures and operation of hand / pneumatic tools.
  • Understanding ofABYC standards desired.
  • Mil-Specelectrical systems and componentsexperience desired.
  • Basic math and measurement capabilities
  • Strong communication skills- both active listening and relaying of information to others
  • Critical Thinking and problem-solving ability.
Required Experience & Education:
  • High School Diploma (GED/High School Equivalence Certificate)
  • Three or more years of experience in a related field or education equivalent
  • Minimum of one year of experience working on SAFE Boats for a similar platform/product
Physical Requirements:

Lift to 40 lbs.

  • Grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, crawling, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening, and hearing ability and visual acuity.
  • Bend, stoop, squat and stretch to complete tasks
  • Must be able to work at heights and/or confined spaces
  • Forklift and scissor lift operations
