Job summary

SAFE Boats International in Tacoma, WA is seeking an Electrical/Mechanical Installer 3 to install electrical and mechanical components on SAFE Boats products under minimal supervision.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma (GED/High School Equivalence Certificate).
  • Three or more years of experience in a related field or education equivalent.
  • Minimum of one year of experience working on SAFE Boats for a similar platform/product.

Responsibilities

  • Install electrical and mechanical components on SAFE Boats products.
  • Install outboard motors or inboard diesel engines and jet drives, with wiring.
  • Install fuel systems and filters.
  • Fabricate and install main and auxiliary wiring harnesses.
  • Install and connect lights, radios, radar, sonar, HVAC, GPS, chart plotters.
  • Troubleshoot and solve installation challenges.
  • Document information related to installations as needed.
  • Assist newer Marine Systems Installers when needed.

Shift: Days 5:00am – 3:30pm M-TH

Pay: $26.00 - $35.00 DOE

Under minimal supervision, responsible for the installation of electrical and mechanical components on SAFE Boats products.

  • Theinstallation of electrical and mechanical components onSAFE Boats products.
  • Installs outboard motors or inboard diesel engines andjet drives, along with associated cables and wiring
  • Installsfuel systems and filters.
  • Fabricates and installs main and auxiliary wiring harnesses.
  • Installs, interfaces, and connectsa variety of components such as lights,radios,radar, sonar, heating andair conditioning systems, auxiliary generators, GPS,chart plotters, etc.
  • Trouble shoots and problem solves challenging installations
  • Documents or communicates information related to installations as needed
  • Sets a positive example and may assist newer Marine Systems Installers with their work
What we need (required skills)
  • Thoroughunderstandingof 12V dc electrical systems, including crimping, soldering and basictrouble shooting using multi meter.
  • Abilitytolayout, build and install subsystemsfrom schematics, including development of part list ordering parts, assembling components and testing.
  • Understanding of gasoline and/or diesel powerplants, including basic automotive mechanical skills
  • Familiar with general shopsafety procedures and operation of hand / pneumatic tools.
  • Understanding ofABYC standards desired.
  • Mil-Specelectrical systems and componentsexperience desired
  • Basic math and measurement capabilities
  • Strong communication skills- both active listening and relaying information to others
  • Critical Thinking and problem-solving abilities
Experience & Education needed
  • High School Diploma (GED/High School Equivalence Certificate)
  • Three or more years of experience in a related field or education equivalent
  • Minimum of one year of experience working on SAFE Boats for a similar platform/product
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Lift to 40 lbs.
  • Grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, crawling, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening, and hearing ability and visual acuity.
  • Bend, stoop, squat and stretch to complete tasks
  • Must be able to work at heights and/or confined spaces
  • Forklift and scissor lift operations
