Responsibilities

  • Perform marine finishing operations including minor painting, layout and installation of non-skid.
  • Cutting and installation of floor mats, locker gaskets and protective coatings.
  • Installation of seats, doors and windows.
  • Fabrication and installation of upholstered side panels and headliner.
  • Assists in boat cleaning and shipping preparations.
  • May work with floatation foam.
  • Troubleshoots and solves construction problems in coordination with supervisor.

LOCATION: Tacoma

Pay: $22.00 -$27.00 DOE

Why we need you and what you will be responsible for :

Under close supervision, responsible for performing all marine finishing operations including minor painting, layout and installation of non-skid. Cutting and installation of floor mats, locker gaskets and protective coatings. Installation of seats, doors and windows. Fabrication and installation of upholstered side panels and headliner. Assists in boat cleaning and shipping preparations. May work with floatation foam. Performs scheduled tasks and receives training and orientation in overall shop operations. Makes entries in and maintains manufacturing paperwork for applicable Hull numbers. Troubleshoots and solves construction problems in coordination with supervisor.

What you will do/work performed :

Working knowledge of hand and power tools and equipment.

  • Safely operate personal tools and shop tools.
  • Ability to accurately read and utilize a Tape measure.
  • Follow basic drawings and measurements to assemble & fabricate products.
  • Properly identify where to locate parts or information
  • Understand how to find and interpret basic work forms and utilize a time clock system.
  • Follows verbal and written direction from Leads, Supervisors and Managers
  • Able to provide general training to other Team Members
  • Previous experience in a marine manufacturing environment a plus
  • Professional experience in marine coatings or automotive painting a plus.
  • Experience in carpets and upholstery a plus.

  • Wrenches
  • Cordless drills
  • Pneumatic tools
  • Grinders
  • Band saws
  • Safety. Attend meetings, read literature and safety talks. Report hazards.
  • Full D&W of a vessel for presentation
  • Shrink wrap process for all vessel types
  • Safely assist in pick, move and set up of vessels using lifting and towing equipment.
  • Ability to sew basic patterns

Educational Requirements:

High School graduate or equivalent. Trade School or College level training is desirable or equivalent experience.

Physical Requirements:

Position requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, crawling, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity. Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to complete tasks. Must be able to lift to 40 lbs.
