Job summary

American Bureau of Shipping is seeking a Surveyor II in Mobile, AL. Under guidance from experienced field surveyors, you will examine vessels and marine structures for compliance with ABS Rules and relevant statutory requirements.

You will perform routine surveys, prepare detailed reports, and engage with clients to resolve issues while maintaining organized survey files throughout project lifecycles.

Qualifications

• Two-year engineering/physical science program or equivalent in marine context.
• Marine or nautical credential with seagoing ship officer experience.
• Minimum three years as Surveyor I, or five years in marine engineering/survey capacity.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine surveys on classed vessels, platforms or marine structures.
• Prepare technically accurate inspection reports in a timely manner.
• Engage with clients to resolve issues within area of expertise.
• Maintain survey files in an organized, up-to-date manner.
