Job summary

KCI Technologies, Inc. is seeking a motivated Marine Structures Engineering Intern for Summer 2027. The role offers a 40-hour work week from mid-May to August, with dedicated supervision and mentorship to support your early career in marine engineering.

Interns will assist in design and development, calculations, and documentation while gaining exposure to multiple project phases and collaboration with internal and external teams.

Qualifications

• Entry level position; no previous experience required.
• Currently enrolled in an ABET-Accredited College Engineering Program
• GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred
• Valid Driver’s License required
• Pre-employment drug screening and background check are conditions of employment.

Responsibilities

• Interest in structural design and development of construction drawings for concrete, wood, and steel marine-related structures (piers, bulkheads, docks, etc.) is preferred.
• Assists with work that involves plans, investigations, surveys, or equipment related to marine and waterfront engineering.
• Supports design and development, materials testing, specifications, process studies, investigations, and report preparation.
• Collaborates with internal teams and external partners on multidisciplinary marine design/engineering projects.
• Provides support to Engineers by preparing calculations, drawings, and documentation as directed.
• Incorporates feedback from Project or Technical Managers and makes adjustments to work products under supervision.
• Completes assignments in a timely and effective manner within established schedules.
• Exposure to different phases of design, construction administration, and bid phase services is a plus.
