AAA United States, Inc. partners with a Portland, Oregon-based shipyard to recruit skilled welders for heavy steel fabrication. You will tack, fit, and weld in multiple positions, reading blueprints and ensuring strict quality standards.

Qualifications

• Welding of structural steel per specs.
• Ability to read blueprints and lay out work accurately.
• Strong math and measurement skills, including fractions and tape measures.
• Commitment to safety standards and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Tack and fit steel components for final welding.
• Set up and operate welding equipment safely and efficiently.
• Perform production welding on heavy steel components.
• Assemble and disassemble steel components as needed.
• Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions.
• Read blueprints and perform precise layout.
• Inspect welds for quality and spec compliance.
• Remove slag and finish welds with attention to detail.
• Troubleshoot minor welding equipment issues.
• Work safely and collaboratively with the team.
