Job summary

AAA United States, Inc. has partnered with a company in Portland, Oregon that is the premiere West Coast shipyard for building large Jones Act compliant vessels.

As a Welder, you will tack and fit steel components, set up and operate welding equipment, perform production welding and inspect welds. Candidates must pass weld tests, read blueprints, and demonstrate strong math and measurement skills with a safety mindset.

Qualifications

• Ability to weld structural steel in all positions using 1/16” flux core wire.
• Ability to pass weld tests including 2G, 3G, and 4G on 1" plate.
• Strong math and measurement skills; able to read blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Tack and fit steel components together in preparation for final welding.
• Set up and operate welding equipment safely and efficiently.
• Perform production welding on heavy steel components and inspect welds for quality.
