NSC Technologies is seeking Structural Welders with 3-5+ years of experience for an exciting project in Pascagoula, MS. Position Overview: As a Structural Welder, you will be responsible for welding various metals on ships or in shops, supporting mechanical repairs, and leading assigned helpers. Candidates must pass the Structural Weld test (Flux Core) and be knowledgeable in welding techniques, ship repair terminology, and ship compartment naming conventions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Pass the Structural Weld Test (2G, 3G Flux Core with dual shield .052 wire on 3/4 inch plate with single bevel) and work on welding pipes made of various metals.
  • Perform welding for ship repair and modernization projects on marine vessels, including military and commercial ships.
  • Provide guidance to helpers during welding tasks.
  • Write Condition Reports with detailed findings and corrective actions.
  • Interpret drawings, specifications, and standards from Navy/MSC/ABS.
  • Operate and maintain welding equipment, portable power tools, and hand tools safely.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and wear proper PPE, including hard hats, respirators, safety harnesses, and flotation gear as required.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 3-5+ years of experience as a Structural Welder, with knowledge of FCAW.
  • Ability to certify in FCAW (Flux Core Arc Welding).
  • Understanding of ship repair terminology and ability to interpret technical drawings and manuals.
  • Physically capable of wearing PPE and adhering to OSHA safety standards.
  • Basic math skills and familiarity with U.S. customary and metric measurement systems.

Work Environment: You will work in shipyards, aboard vessels, or in industrial settings where attention to detail, quality, and safety are essential. Projects involve hands-on welding and supervision of helpers to ensure high standards.
